…IFP’s Gotham Independent Film Awards gave one of their four tributes to influential independents in film to actress Penelope Cruz. Penelope’s body of work embodies what is exciting and vibrant about filmmaking today, in particular independent filmmaking. Her performances working with internationally acclaimed directors and her choice of roles are dynamic, vivacious and varied. Earlier in the evening, she and the rest of the cast for Vicky Christina Barcelona also captured the Gotham Award for Best Ensemble Performance.Credit:IFPisindiefilm
