Child Thiessen competed in many beauty pageants and won the 'Miss Junior America pageant' in 1987. In 1988, she won Teen Magazine's Great Model Search and in 1989 Cover Girl Magazine's 'Model of the Year'. She was listed in 2002's Stuff magazine's 102 Sexiest Women in the World.
